Cannabis Drinks a Healthier Alternative to Alcohol?

An opinion piece in the FT suggests that alcohol-related deaths and the obesity crisis could make cannabis infused drinks the cocktail of choice. There is also the reported fact that millennials often choose it over alcohol. Should wellness trends persist the legal cannabis market could grow globally from $12 billion in 2018 to $166 billion by 2025.

War on Drones is a Growing Business

The success of the drone industry has has spawned the antidrone industry. Increasingly firms are investing in technologies to disable or destroy drones in flight. An article in the WSJ claims that the antidrone industry is likely to exceed $1.2 billion in sales in 2019 and should surpass $1.5 billion in 2021.

Gun Shot Detection Company Sales Up 400%

Gunfire detection systems are being quietly installed in offices and factories across the U.S. An article in the WSJ reports that “shootings are ‘so frequent now, people are starting to accept it.'” To reduce concern, these devices are often installed without an announcement to employees.

Shooter Detection Systems is one of the biggest sellers of these devices and reportedly has 18,000 devices employed. Each device sells for approximately $1,200 and sales are up substantially: “Sales at Shooter Detection Systems are up 400% in the past year, with Fortune 500 companies now representing the firm’s biggest base of clients…”
