Gunfire detection systems are being quietly installed in offices and factories across the U.S. An article in the WSJ reports that “shootings are ‘so frequent now, people are starting to accept it.'” To reduce concern, these devices are often installed without an announcement to employees.
Shooter Detection Systems is one of the biggest sellers of these devices and reportedly has 18,000 devices employed. Each device sells for approximately $1,200 and sales are up substantially: “Sales at Shooter Detection Systems are up 400% in the past year, with Fortune 500 companies now representing the firm’s biggest base of clients…”
